In a production aptly titled “Sariling Atin III" meaning "Our Very Own," this scenic and highly anticipated presentation is an ambitious endeavor inspired by folk dance and music legends of the Philippine Islands. Experience our heritage through an extravaganza of brilliant choreography, exquisite costuming and special guest entertainer, Gabe Bondoc. Sariling Atin III is supported in part, by a Cultural Affairs grant from the City of San Jose.

In its adherence to preserve and promote the dance and music cultures of the Philippines and its diverse regions, folk dance enthusiasts in 2003 created Hiyas Philippine Folk Dance Company, the jewel of Silicon Valley. Under the auspices of Justin Kelly Mambaje, Artistic/Musical Director and Choreographer and Jeff Bado, Executive Director, expertise lies not only in captivating and inspiring its audiences with epochal folk dance exhibitions but in its live percussion ensembles and rondalla featuring its own distinctive and incomparable style. The group earned accolades in over 375 engagements to date, including two endorsements with World Arts West, initially in 2005 and this year for the 30th anniversary season Ethnic Dance Festival held at the renowned Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, California, the most prestigious event of its kind produced annually in the month of June.
